“Matter and Energy are in Balance” is the title of a piece in New Scientist 29 October 2016, by Gilead Amit; who focuses on the ideas of Nicolao Forengo at the University of Turin, Italy and of Andrew Pontzen at University College, London. The article deals with the mystery of the balance that exists between matter and energy; in fact between matter, dark matter and dark energy.

Dark Matter: as we know, is the label given to the phenomena whereby galaxies (astrophysics) rotate at speeds that should, according to the currently accepted theories, throw off the stars they contain. There is not enough matter be it of stars, dust, gas or anything else – to possess enough gravity to hold these spinning masses together. Astrophysicists estimate that 80% of the necessary mass is “missing”.

Dark Energy: is the term given to mysterious, unseen, undetected particles (subatomic-physics) that we insert into our models of the universe as “force-carriers” that mysteriously accelerate the boundary of the sphere  of the visible or observable universe (about 43.7 billion light years to our horizon). The universe is expanding at an increasing rate; according to the latest observations and calculations of Hubble-Expansion. (Cosmology).

The NS article quotes Forengo, “Like particles interact, maybe dark energy and dark matter interact” and he wonders, “are they opposite sides of the same coin?” My view is that of course they interact, I think that all the universal “Constants” are actually variables that constantly interact and change in value – some slowly over billions of years, some rapidly, in response to energetic events. I think that this particular puzzle is a three-way exchange. Ordinary Matter is the catalyst between Dark Energy and Dark Matter.

I believe, as set out in my EIG concept, that the basic stuff of the universe is energy (light) – coherent, cohering energy – a field, or more usefully thought of as an ocean (3 dimensions) of light. When Matter was and is formed, it is formed by the condensation of light, as measured by E=MC2. This process of condensation creates momentary partial vacuums as energy converts from the flowing ocean into particles. These momentary vacuums or attenuation of the light-ocean in turn attract energy and matter that “falls” into the attenuated zones. This movement to re-fill the zones is the extra “missing” gravity that we call Dark Matter.

Dark Energy is, I think, the opposite side of the system. After the process of creating ordinary matter stabilises – after all the attenuated zones are re-filled with energy and the energy-ocean is re-balanced, the matter becomes permanent. We know that protons at the centre of atoms have a life of billions of billions of years, they are effectively eternal by our human lifespan measures. This locks up energy from the light-ocean; only to be released in the flash of an atomic-explosion. The conversion of light into ordinary matter depletes the ocean of light, it reduces its mass (I am now reasonably sure that light has slight mass – See NEW GRAVITY) – which in turn reduces the coherence of the ocean – allowing the Hubble-Expansion to accelerate.

Contrariwise – when matter disintegrates in atomic explosions or implosions, the energy is released into the field (ocean) and the additional coherence slows Hubble-Expansion. Thus the 3 cosmic forms, Matter, Dark Energy and Dark Matter interact in an eternal dance.
